Republic of Turkmenistan Culture House

The Turkmen folk culture and literature, rooted in the Kül Tigin Inscriptions and the Orkhon-Yenisei Scripts, have been shaped by legendary figures such as Dede Korkut, Karacaoğlan, Sultan Sencer, Oghuz Khan, and Magtymguly Pyragy—either natives of or closely tied to Turkmen lands. The Turkmenistan Culture House in the Turkish World offers a mirror to this rich history and cultural heritage.

Inside, visitors can find examples of Turkmen carpets made of sheep and camel wool, models of the famous Ahal-Teke horses, fringes made from hand-woven carpets used to adorn windows and doors, and a collection of Turkmen currency (manats)—all presenting intriguing cultural details.

Other exhibits include silver stamps issued for extinct animal species, woolen slippers, images from the National Flag Day, pacifiers made from deer antlers, a model of Sultan Sencer’s mausoleum, carpet looms, samples of root dye, special jewelry for Turkmen brides, mannequins dressed in traditional clothing—all inviting curious minds to explore.
