Turkish World Culture Quarter

Istanbul is a city that has hosted many civilizations throughout history. Just like in the past, it continues to be a center of culture and art today. It is a meeting point of diverse faces, colors, traditions, and beliefs.

With its recreational areas, museums, and cultural parks, the city attracts both locals and tourists. One such venue is the Turkish World Culture Quarter, which takes its visitors on a journey through the rich colors, patterns, and artifacts of the Turkic world.

Located within Topkapı Cultural Park, the quarter features houses representing Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, the Republic of Tatarstan (RF), and the Republic of Bashkortostan (RF), as well as the House of Abu Nasr Al-Farabi.

Rich Cultural Content

In each of these houses, dedicated to a specific country, various items reflecting daily life are displayed, including household goods, musical instruments, and traditional clothing. Kazakh and Kyrgyz yurts, full-size models of the Orkhon Inscriptions, the Maiden's Castle, and the Burana Tower further enrich this cultural treasure.

The quarter opened in 2009 and has evolved into its current form with the addition of models and yurts over time. A tent model added in 2016 as part of the UNESCO Year of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi is particularly significant as it reflects spiritual life and Sufi culture.

Events and Significance

The Turkish World Culture Quarter is a vibrant venue where Turkic communities come together during special occasions like Nowruz and Sabantuy. It plays a vital role in promoting shared cultural heritage and passing it on to future generations.

Open to visitors free of charge every day of the year, the quarter invites guests with its flower-adorned garden.
