Learn MoreThe Maiden's Castle is one of the most significant historical landmarks of both Baku and Azerbaijan. In the past, the Caspian Sea reached right up to its base. Today, due to land reclamation, it stands slightly inland. Nevertheless, it continues to exist in all its beauty. It is a must-see destination for both the Azerbaijani people and tourists visiting the country. The castle was built in the 13th century by the architect Masud ibn Dawud. Its body is made of limestone and it stands 27 meters tall. Although the architect is known, how and why the castle was constructed remains a mystery. As a result, many legends have emerged over time. Located near the sea, it is one of the most iconic symbols of Baku.
The Burana Tower is located in the Chuy Valley, 80 km east of Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. This area was once the ancient city of Balasagun, founded in the late 9th century by the Karakhanid State and served as its capital at the time. Situated on the Silk Road, the Burana Tower was used both as a minaret and as a watchtower during the Karakhanid period. A model of this unique historical monument is also on display at the Turkish World Culture District.
A model of the Tonyukuk Monument, one of the Orkhon Inscriptions, has been commissioned by Kültür A.Ş. and is exhibited at the Turkish World Culture District.
